Workshop: Kansei Engineering Software (KESo): Introduction and Applications of Kansei Engineering Evaluations
proposed by Simon Schütte (Linköping University, Sweden)
Kansei Engineering is often based on fairly complicated statistical evaluation tools. Using these tools requires expertise that many company users do not have. The Kansei Engineering Group at Linköpings university has therefore developed a software package capable to create a data collection website, collect data online and evaluate these data using Quatification Theory Type 1 and Rough Sets Analyis. This workshop will introduce to underlying theory and the software itself. Several applications will be presented and the participants will carry out their own data collection and evaluation.
A own computer using Windows system is recommended for the participants.
Workshop: Emotion and Time Value
proposed by Shuichi Fukuda (Stanford University, USA / Keio University, Japan), Daniel Esquivel (Toyota Europe, Belgium), Monica Bordegoni (Politecnico Di Milano, Italy), and Carole Bouchard (Arts et Métiers, ParisTech, France)
This workshop focus on the issue of temporal aspect of emotion such as feeling of best fit, attachment, etc.
We feel happy and enjoy walking when our shoes break in well and we feel they perfectly fit us. When engineers talk about performance, they only focus on design performance and how they break in and adapt to the situations and environment are seldom discussed. In this workshop, experience design and such temporal issues of emotion as feeling of best fit, attachment, etc are taken up and how we can tackle these problems will be discussed.
We welcome anybody who would like to join discussion on these issues.
